Description

Enjoy Russia’s best sights on your favorite motorcycle! Endless forests, deep lakes, a mixture of cultures and religions, Orthodox cathedrals and crafts museums - you will see Russia’s main attractions: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Suzdal, Volga river, Seliger lake and many more! 

Day 1. Kazan arrival

Time for leisure. Welcome dinner in the evening.

Day 2. Kazan

We will begin our journey through Russia with the former capital of the Kazan Khanate, and now the “third capital of Russia”, Kazan. We will see the Kremlin, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the Söyembikä Tower (also called the Khan's Mosque), the Annunciation Cathedral and the Kul-Sharif Mosque are located. That's why Kazan is called “the city of all religions”.

Day 3. Kazan-Yoshkar Ola – Cheboksary, 240 km

Today we will start our route along the main river of Russia - the Volga.

We will stop for lunch in the capital of the Mari El Republic, the city of Yoshkar Ola, where we will see the "creations" of the former mayor: a copy of the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin, the area of the Belgian city of Bruges and the embankment of the Dutch Amsterdam.

We will spend the night in Cheboksary, the capital of Chuvashia and, concurrently, the main city of tractor builders, where we can see the whole history of these agricultural machines in the largest tractor museum in Russia.

Day 4. Cheboksary – Semenov - Nizhny Novgorod, 340 km

Next day we continue our trip along the Volga. We will stop for lunch in the city of Semenov, famous for its authentic painting of nesting dolls.

In the evening we will get to the capital of the Volga region and the entire "Great Volga", Nizhny Novgorod. The city is also known for being the birthplace of the Russian tram, and in the Museum of the Trolleybus and Tram we can trace its entire history.

Day 5. Nizhny Novgorod – Gorodets – Palekh – Suzdal, 340 km

On the way from Nizhny we will stop by at Gorodets, the second name of which is the old Kitezh-grad, where we will visit the Museum of Folk Crafts and Crafts of Central Russia.

We will stop for lunch in the city of Palekh, famous for its icon painters and miniatures on papier-mâché products.

We will finish this day in one of the capitals of the Old Russian state, the museum city of Suzdal.

Day 6. Suzdal – Moscow, 260 km

Today we will continue our journey away from the main transport routes – we will ride through quiet provincial towns, and stop at a Copper Museum. Not far from Moscow, we will have a look at a large technical museum, which contains a collection of existing prototypes of unusual vehicles.

In the evening we will have a dinner in the capital of the Russian Federation - Moscow. We will visit the holy of holies of Russia - the Moscow Kremlin.

Day 7. Moscow

Day of rest in Moscow.

Day 8. Moscow – Mozhaysk – Kaluga, 280 km

We will stop by for coffee at the Russian Dessert Museum, dine in the city, which is the western outpost on the near approaches to Moscow, Mozhaysk, and in the evening we will spend time in the space capital of Russia, the city of Kaluga, where we will visit the main Space Museum of the country.

Day 9. Kaluga – Smolensk, 360 km

Continuing our movement to the west, we will come to the “shield city” Smolensk, which served for many centuries as a reliable protection for Moscow from the encroachments of European countries, as evidenced by numerous military monuments from different periods of history.

Day 10. Smolensk – Seliger, 380 km

Through frequently destroyed and restored small industrial towns, we will arrive in the country of “thousands of lakes” Seliger, where the great Russian Volga River originates. We will rest and have dinner on the shore of the lake, and we will visit one of the most revered monasteries in Russia.

Day 11. Seliger - Staraya Russa - Veliky Novgorod, 330 km

The next day we will spend on roads driving through forests and swamps. We will get to the city, known from the 18th century for its healing springs, Staraya Russa, where we will have lunch and in the evening we will arrive in one of the old Russian republic cities - Veliky Novgorod, where we will see the oldest building in Russia - St. Sophia Cathedral and a monument to the 1000th anniversary of the baptism of Russia, which reflects the whole history of Christian Russia until the end of the 19th century.

Day 12. Veliky Novgorod  - St. Petersburg, 210 km

Finally, using the least busy roads and directions, we will find ourselves in the cultural and tourist capital of Russia - St. Petersburg.

Day 13. St. Petersburg

St.Petersburg is a city whose entire center is protected by UNESCO. Here we can look at the treasures of the main museum of the city - the Hermitage, ride on a speed boat, look at the "Russian Versailles" Peterhof and see its world-famous fountains.

Day 14. Departure from St.Petersburg

Departure. Today your exciting trip will come to an end. Please make sure to let us know if you need an extra night or two in Saint Petersburg to enjoy the sights.
